Pregnant Holiday Outfit

dress

I love getting dressed up but in my daily life there aren’t that many occasions to get decked out so when the holidays roll around I get super excited to whip out my party dresses and get all dolled up for parties and different events.  Since I’m preggers this year, it’s def been a bit of a challenge finding cute holiday outfits to fit my growing bump.

Honestly, I’ve found that most maternity wear is super heinous, not flattering, and way overpriced for stuff you’re only going to wear a couple of times, so I’ve just been buying stuff from regular stores in a size bigger that I’ll be able to wear post-preganancy as well.  Forever 21 has been a favorite place for me to shop during my pregnancy, and this whole outfit is from there.

The faux fur jacket can be easily dressed up like I did with this dress, or dressed down with a pair of jeans and boots, and this dress is a looser, boxier cut that will totally work post-preganancy and would even be great for a 20’s flapper/Great Gatsby themed costume as well!

The Best Vest by Lululemon

IMG_6012

2 great looks in 1 vest

I always love a good vest and right now I’m obsessed with the Everything She Wants Vest from Lululemon. It’s a knee-length reversible vest that’s super warm and cozy, and you can definitely dress it up or down depending on your outfit. One side is made from a furry black fleece, and the other side is a quilted gray material so between the two options it goes with everything, and you’re basically getting two vests for the price of one so what’s better than that?!

It’s insulated so it keeps you warm and toasty, and it’s also great to travel with.  I recently brought it on a flight with me and used it as a blanket and a pillow, which was a way better option than the gross ones that they give you to use.  And with the holidays right around the corner, this is a great gift option as well!

Must-Have Plaid Fashion Finds

plaid

I’m mad about plaid and have been waiting for fall to roll around so that I could whip out my favorite fall print.  Here are some of my top plaid picks for the season:

PLAID SHIRTS:

This Vince top is definitely my favorite this season

It doesn’t get easier or more on trend than pairing your favorite plaid shirt with a pair of skinny jeans or leggings and a great pair of boots.  For a more dressed up plaid look, I’m obsessed with this Vince shirt with leather trim or this Equipment  silk blouse.  For a more cas look, check out these shirts from Zara, Abercrombie, or Forever 21.

PLAID DRESSES:

BBDA-WD486_V1

Comfy yet still chic, this BB Dakota dress is perfect alone or with some tights

I love the whole “I’m-wearing-my-man’s-shirt” look and think it’s totally sexy and chic, and paired with tights or bare legged with a pair of stilettos or boots, it doesn’t get much better, and this BB Dakota dress nails that look right on the head.  For a more dressed up and refined version, this Marc Jacobs dress is pure plaid perfection.

PLAID JACKETS:

2996561-p-MULTIVIEW

This is a great long option from Free People

Sick of your plain black coat?  I don’t blame you, they do get old fast, and the perfect fix is a plaid jacket.  BB Dakota makes a great draped version, while Free People has this longer option if you’re looking for a little more coverage.

PLAID PANTS:

The Paige Denim pants are the perfect plaid pant

If you’re looking for a bold plaid statement, then pants are the way to go.  Pair them with a solid top for a classic look, or if you’re feeling bold pair it with a striped or patterned top in the same color family. These Paige Denim or Joe’s Jeans skinnies are the perfect denim option, or if you’re looking for something a little more traditional these Gap or Anne Klein ones are great options as well.
